"Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real." - Thomas Merton
Does writing intimidate you? Many people believe that when they sit down to write, their product has to be some flowery, thesaurus-assisted offering. Or worse, a rubric-driven standardized essay. In my experience as an editor, it seems that the best works are honest and humble. The best writing advice I can give to someone: Write like you talk.
If you happen to use a lot of "whatnots" and "heretofores" in your everyday language, then that's fine. Go for it. But keep it believable. Read your words back to yourself out-loud. If it doesn't sound right, try saying it first and THEN typing it. Do that a few times, and you've got a paragraph. Pretty cool, huh?
Writing, like any art form, is an expression of the heart and soul. All you have to do is open up and let it flow...and then hire a good editor to get it all into the channel. Click on the CONTACT link above to find a good editor. Hey, it ain't braggin' if it's true!
